An anonymous truck driver fled the scene after his vehicle caught fire.
It was packed with fireworks, and one witness described the scene as a
series of “psychedelic explosions.”
Investigators do not know why the box van exploded on Interstate 15 near the Nevada border, but it may or may not have been something like this. San Bernardino County firefighters eventually controlled the blaze, as they listened to the popping sound of fireworks. The accident shut down the southbound lanes for about an hour, and caused traffic delays that stretched across the border.
No one was injured because of the crash.
